THE MELLENUIM DEVELOPMENT AND NIGERIA MEN
The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) are eight goals to be achieved by 2015 that respond to the world's main development challenges. The MDGs are drawn from the actions and targets contained in the Millennium Declaration that was adopted by 189 nations-and signed by 147 heads of state and governments during the UN Millennium Summit in September 2000. Nigeria singed and it great they are trying to work the signature, however it becomes so painful that not every one knows the important of making this come to reality, while some are on the struggle to make the MDGs come to reality, some are staying neutral and some are frustrating the effort of committed persons, well let me use this post to inform us: mainly my Nigeria male folks that it’s possible to accept all of the goals,
Goal 1: Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
Goal 2: Achieve universal primary education
Goal 3: Promote gender equality and empower women
Goal 4: Reduce child mortality
Goal 5: Improve maternal health
Goal 6: Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
Goal 7: Ensure environmental sustainability
Goal 8: Develop a Global Partnership for Development
An average Nigeria Man would accept goal number 1, 2,4,5,6 and goal 7 what then happens to goal number 3, here is where the problem begins: some say it’s from the “Deepest Part in the Pit of Hell” others call it a “Demonic Principle” perhaps we need orientation on what it means, I think every one is one way or the other connected to a woman, either as a mother, sister, friend, child or wife if you are then you should protect them, don’t only reason from the aspect of living in the home, if you don’t do it to your wife some other person will, their is no development with would be meaningful if our African women are not empower, support women, we impact the world and make it worthwhile, it doesn’t just have to rotate, the rotation needs to be meaningful.
Enjoy
